Training Objectives.
This training inspires and enables decision makers to exploit
the exciting business improvement opportunities to be won by:
- Making full use of existing RRP solutions that are already fit-for-purpose;
- Adapting existing RRP solutions that are not yet fit-for-purpose;
and,
- Designing and delivering new RRP solutions that are fit-for-purpose.
As a result of this training, trading partners will work together,

Why bother with RRP?
Retail Ready Packaging (RRP) is a prerequisite for doing business
with some retailers. Without asking for RRP solutions other retailers
often receive them from
multinational suppliers.
Used well RRP solutions have the potential to increase the productivity
of scarce
replenishment labour; improve on-shelf availability and appearance;
increase
sales and loyalty; and reduce environmental impact.
Why are some solutions not fit-for-purpose?
A few RRP solutions have helped products win listings, facings and
distribution
but are not fit-for-purpose; in any retail outlet! Many of these
solutions have been
agreed – by commercial teams – before being fully tested – by store
staff.
Some RRP solutions work in several formats but not in others because
of
differences in shelf dimensions.
Those involved in the design, specification and selection of secondary
packaging
need to fully appreciate the in-store functional requirements and
understand how
to optimize case dimensions for a range of retailers and their

than decanting each unit

Training Participants (Target Audience):
Each training event is for those trading in specific categories.
Space is limited so the training is initially restricted to retailer
Category Managers and
supplier Account Directors.
However, ‘Fit-for-purpose’ RRP involves decisions by marketing,
design, packaging
procurement, production, sales, supply-chain, buyers, merchandising
and retail store
operations.
Other opportunities will be found for retailer Category Managers
and supplier Account
Directors to fully engage more of their colleagues and so make extra,
quicker, easier
and more sustainable progress.
