ECR Baltic Community Newsletter #2-2011

If you are a pro or just started your career in Consumer Products and Retail related industries this newsletter should be for you!

The ECR Baltic newsletter gives frequent updates on Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) activities and developments in Baltics. The newsletter aim to show collaboration best practices and win win cases for managing efficient supply and demand chains for the benefit to Consumers, Consumer Products and Retail sectors.  

ECR in Europe has quite a long track record from1994, however ECR Baltic initiative was the first called in 2006 by two major retail chains and its suppliers at that time facilitated by ECR Poland. Shortly after GS1 Latvia has been chosen to run ECR Baltic secretariat until 2009 when ECR Baltic changed its legal structure with only to ECR Baltic dedicated management team.

After continuous market growth for almost 10 years in a row it was recognized that it wont last for long and the time to bring efficiencies throughout the whole supply chain has come. Followed by deep recession in 2008 Efficient Consumer Response became pretty much for Efficient Crisis Response strategy for many retailers and manufacturers.

ECR Baltic Student Award 2011ECR Baltic Education and Training Committee has launched ECR Baltic Student Award, learn more!

ECR Baltic Student award was led by ECR Baltic Education and Training Committee to encourage students and academics for choosing FMCG and Retail industry as a working area, the award paper can serve as a launch pad for further development in final paper or thesis.

To participate in the competition, individually or in pairs of two students must write a project work (max 12 pages) on one of the following topics:

 1. Consumer Research
 2. Logistics & Supply Chain
 3. Information Technologies

Deadline: April 15th, 2011
